The Problem is still Perforce

The Problem Perforce consistently crashes and does not move files over when pushed. We need to work with the group the majority of the time to make sure pushes are consistent and people are getting updates to everyone's side of the project. Not to mention, thanks to one team mate not showing up for a long time, they jumped in, pulled everything while another team mate was working, and completely killed their code. We spent hours reading and fixing the situation.
The Solution Unfortunately, this is a school project where a lot of our responsibility is to use Perforce - it's a requirement and part of our grade. I'm already backing stuff up and moving things to a different source control for after this month, so the fix is a two-week process. But you have to wonder if maybe the issue is the team's communication.
Let me get back to work rather then complaining
